In our family, I’m not the one who keeps everyone connected on Facebook. Someone else usually takes care of posting pictures of the kids and responding to friends and family.
As for me? I hardly post anything. I lean towards hermit in real life, and on social media. Anything not to trigger my social anxiety.
But for business, I know social media is important, and I want to have a presence there.
Here we have a conundrum: I want to do social media, but I don’t especially like doing it. Knowing this, and knowing myself, I figured out how to make the task easier. That’s the only way it would actually happen.
Fortunately, I did have one thing going for me. I liked coming up with ideas to share and creating content. And I had systems in place to keep me on track. So the content was coming out—it’s just that it wasn’t consistently going anywhere. I could manage to get the content posted on my blog, but I struggled with posting it on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
I wanted to learn how to be better at social media when you hate social media.
But if you look at my LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, you’ll notice that I post regularly. (I did not hop on the TikTok bandwagon). How do I do it?
Later helps me be better at social media.
When I found Later, my problem was solved! It posts on social media for me. Now, I only get involved when there’s engagement on my posts, and interacting is easy and enjoyable when all the hard work is done for you. If you’re like me, an introvert who doesn’t love the idea of socializing, Later is like a magical machine that gets you showered, gets you dressed and brings you to the party. Once you get there, you realize, Oh hey, this is fun!
What does Later post for me?
When I post new content to my blog, Later automatically posts it to my social media channels after I approve the post from my feed.I’ve also set up Latert to randomly grab and post previous blog posts on a set schedule. When I created my Client Onbaording Toolkit, I spent an hour creating some posts for it—and now those posts get posted regularly as well. Also in the mix? Posts promoting my free report: Get Your Website Done!
Now when it comes to social media, the machine is running and doing its thing. (If only technology could instantly get me showered, dressed, and transported to in-person social events…but who knows what the future holds!) Until then, I’ll just keep hermiting (and finding awesome, time-saving solutions) as much as possible.
